Covid-19

We will be implementing a series of steps to keep everyone as safe as possible at WomBall. By booking onto the event you agree to join us in following these steps to keep yourself and those around you safe.

Last updated 09/09/21

  • Lateral Flow Tests

Everyone who books onto the event is agreeing to complete a lateral flow test beforehand, no more than 24 hours before your first bit of WomBall (whether this is a Friday or Saturday activity or arriving at the site on Friday or Saturday). This is our best chance at making sure no one comes to the event with Coronavirus and could infect other attendees. The tests are available free from the government website. You should be prepared to show evidence of your negative lateral flow test if asked at the event. If your lateral flow test is positive then you should follow the guidelines for your region and not come to the event. You can apply for a refund in this situation (see our cancellation policy).

Those staying with us on Friday and/or Saturday night are strongly recommended to do a lateral flow test on Sunday morning, as set out by the Scouts. We will have LFTs available on site for everyone who stays with us to use on Sunday morning. If anyone tests positive they must follow the government guidelines for a positive test and those who stayed in a tent with them must follow the government guidelines for being a close contact. They should also inform WomBall committee immediately.

The exception to this is those who have tested positive in the last 90 days. Government guidelines state that those in this position should not do lateral flow tests until the 90 days have passed. Instead of having proof of a negative lateral flow test, please be prepared to show proof that you fit into this category.

  • On Arrival at Site

We will require you to scan our test and trace QR code with the NHS app before you can access our areas of site (when booking onto the event you agree that you will participate in this). If anyone is displaying Covid-19 symptoms they can isolate on site in our isolation tent and then should follow the current government guidelines. If this happens and causes potential travel problems for you we have a plan in place, but the likelihood is low!

  • Social Distancing and Mask Wearing

Although social distancing and mask wearing will no longer be the law, SSAGO members will still need to exercise caution. Direct physical contact should be avoided and where close contact is required (like if an accident happens) masks should be worn unless exempt. Masks should also be worn in poorly ventilated areas, like the site toilets. SSAGO members should not assume the comfort level of others and you should keep a sensible distance from members if you don't know whether they're comfortable with being up close yet! All of our queues will be socially distanced so everyone can be comfortable getting food and drinks, areas like the marquee will not have any enforced social distancing. Please use the hand sanitiser that will be available across site.

  • After the Event

Should you test positive for Covid-19 in the 7 days after the event you are reqiured to let WomBall committee know as soon as possible. It's important that anyone who was exposed to Covid-19 is informed so they can take appropriate action. Our hope is that by being outside (and hopefully the majority of attendees being fully or partially vaccinated) transmission will be low.

If you experience any issues in the booking process, please contact webmaster@ssago.org.
