Ball is the one national SSAGO event where people don’t usually end up sleeping in tents (but they can do!). Yes, it’s time to show the world SSAGO has a bit of class and actually likes a warm bed and a hot shower. Remember, it is your responsibility to find somewhere for the night, but we’re here to help if needed.

Below you'll find two lists. Firstly some bookable accomodation at Kibblestone Scout Campsite that we've organised.

Then we've also provided you with some places to stay in and around Newcastle Under Lyme. There's a mixture of different price ranges depending on location and what you're after. You'll see the distance to the venue (as the crow flies) to help you work out what's best for you. Another thing to think about is how you will get to the venue, so we've highlighted if they're on a bus route.

Hotels can be expensive so remember to share with your friends, book as early as you can (albeit accounting for risk) and shop around.

Scout Hut Accommodation: Despite our best efforts we were unable to aquire a local Scout Hut to rent for the night. Believe us we did all we could, but we got told no 4 times, and a further two never got back to us. We are dissapointed this couldn't be arranged but would encourage people to book onto the the tented village at Kibblestone if they want something cheap (plus this comes with showers!)

Kibblestone Scout Campsite

We will be having a mini SSAGO camp at Kibblestone Scout Campsite which is about 20 mins from the Ball venue. Kibblestone is a lovely campsite near the town of Stone and makes for a lovely rural weekend getaway! We will be offering limited transport to the venue which can be purchased by those looking to easily get to and from the site.

Kibblestone Scout Campsite - Copeland Cabin Bed Full

A centre on the Kibblestone Scout Campsite based near the small town of Stone around 20 minutes away from Keele Hall. This option includes pick up from Stone railway station if requested. There is a shower, toilet and mini kitchen at this hut. We'll provide some drinks and food for breakfast. You will need a sleeping bag and maybe an extra blanket as it may get cold. Please be aware we may consolidate Cabin and Dale Centre bookings if we don't need to hire two buildings.

Kibblestone Scout Campsite - Dale Centre Bed Full

A small centre on the Kibblestone Scout Campsite based near the small town of Stone around 20 minutes away from Keele Hall. This option includes pick up from Stone railway station if requested. Shower and toilet facilities are available nearby. A kettle, toaster and snacks will also be provided for breakfast. You will need a sleeping bag and maybe an extra blanket as it may get cold. Please be aware we may consolidate Cabin and Dale Centre bookings if we don't need to hire two buildings.

Kibblestone Scout Campsite - Pre-pitched tent

A spot in a tent pitched at Kibblestone Scout Campsite based near the small town of Stone around 20 minutes away from Keele Hall. This option includes pick up from Stone Railway Station if requested. Shower and toilet facilities are available nearby. A kettle, toaster and snacks will also be provided for breakfast at the Dale Centre. You will need your normal camping things. Pictured tent is an example. 8 per tent

Kibblestone Scout Campsite - BYO tent

Pitch your own tent at Kibblestone Scout Campsite based near the small town of Stone around 20 minutes away from Keele Hall. This option includes pick up from Stone Railway Station if requested. Shower and toilet facilities are available nearby. A kettle, toaster and snacks will also be provided for breakfast at the Dale Centre. You will need your normal camping things.

BY REQUEST Kibblestone Scout Campsite - Leaders' Lodge Full

Kibblestone also has 2 small lodges available, both sleeping 4 people. If you and friends would like to book one of these between you then get in touch with us. The lodges sleep 4, and have a small seating area with a sink and fridge. They offer a bit more privacy than the other indoor options.
