Hans and Helga
Hans and Helga have travelled all the way from Bavaria to celebrate Oktoberfest with SSAGO. Helga has already been spotted at a couple of SSAGO events including Centenarally and ReBAR. Hans is trying to get a visa (Anna hasn't made him yet - oops) but he will land in Birmingham in time for Oktoberfest Rally!
Lye
Lye is our cute knock-off Jelly Cat. You might have seen him helping with our fundraising at ReBAR. Lye is aptly named after a key part of the pretzel making process. Lye is the secret ingredient that gives pretzels their characteristic look and taste. When you dip raw dough into a hot lye bath, the lye breaks down proteins and starches on the surface, giving German pretzels their signature shiny mahogany colour.
