Campsite

We will be camping at the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC). The Kandersteg International Scout Centre is a World Centre of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM). The Centre began in 1923 with Lord Baden-Powell, who, after the first World Scout Jamboree, had a dream about a place where all Scouts from all over the world could meet. His dream came true and now YOU have the opportunity to visit Kandersteg International Scout Centre and live YOUR Dream!

Described as a Permanent Mini-Jamboree, KISC sees over 1,000 Scouts and Guides from around the world staying during the Summer seasons, a great chance to meet new people, make new friends as well as enjoy the adventures Switzerland has to offer.

Accommodation

We will be camping in tents at the campsite for the whole week, staying at the same site throughout the trip.

We will be hiring tents from the site to stay in, with groups of 6-8 people sharing a tent together. If you would like to bring your own tent, you are welcome to, but you will need to accomodate for this yourself in your own luggage.

Facilities

The campsite is well equipped with facilities, fresh running water, toilet and shower blocks, drying rooms, fridge and storage rooms and shelter areas.

In addition, the campsite features multiple common rooms to relax in after an action-oacked day, onsite activities to enjoy, swimming pools and saunas, games, trails and walks, campfire circles and sports fields.

Activities

There are plenty of on-site activities to take part in on the campsite, including international and friendship events, trails and walks, crate stacking, zip wire, climbing, abseiling and ropes courses.

Off-site, thanks to it's location, there are loads of exciting activities, sights to see and places to visit nearby just a day trip away. View the activities list

Location

The campsite is located in the heart of Switzerland in Kandersteg, a village in the Bernese Highlands in Switzerland. It is surrounded by some of the most spectacular landscape and filled with nearby places to visit, sights to see and activities to enjoy. Take a read through of some of the activities around.
