Birthday Party Morning Full

From 10am-1pm, join us for games, party food, and perhaps even presents, get to know people before the main event, and perhaps even relive the birthdays of your childhood! This event will take place in Pantycelyn, which is at the bottom of the university campus. Please meet at the front entrance (w3w ///displays.dentures.devours), and a Aber Member will let you in.

Vale of Rheidol Railway

This is an all-day activity, Meeting at the Vale of Rheidol Station at 10:00 for a 10:30 departure, and returning into Aberystwyth at 13:30. Visit https://www.rheidolrailway.co.uk/ or read the excerpt below for more information. See the countryside change as you travel through wide open fields and meadows, woodland and rugged mountain scenery. The narrow track gauge allows the railway to follow the contours of the terrain with many sharp curves and steep gradients which add to the railway’s charm. Listen to the sound of a powerful narrow gauge steam locomotive working hard to climb 700ft (200m) during the 12 miles from Aberystwyth to Devil’s Bridge. Birds of prey such as Red Kite and Buzzards are regularly seen soaring high above the valley floor and breath taking views can be enjoyed by all. Once arriving in Devils Bridge visit the famous Devil’s Bridge Waterfalls and discover the legend of Devil’s Bridge, Enjoy a tasty treat in the cafe at Devil’s Bridge, or Explore the Pine Marten Den at Devil’s Bridge station.

Hike to Borth

We will be taking the coastal path for a hike to Borth, followed by the train back. The hike will take approximately 2.5 hours, and the train back to Aberystwyth costs £4.60 without a railcard, or £3.00 with one. We will be meeting at 10am in front of the train station in Aberystwyth and walking from there.
