By Train

Get a train to Newport (South Wales) station (NWP) - NOT Newbridge. Direct trains to Newport run from major stations such as Bristol Temple Meads, London Paddington, Manchester Piccadilly, and Birmingham New Street. There will be regular shuttles running from Newport station to the site, taking approximately 20-30 minutes.

Shuttles will run from the Long Stay car park at the rear of the station, so please ensure you exit the station via the Platform 4 (Godfrey Road/Civic Centre) exit, otherwise you will be responsible for making the 5-10 minute walk around the station to the pickup point.

Newport station does have toilets on all platforms, as well as refreshment facilities offered by a coffee stall on platform 4, and a WHSmith on platform 2/3. There is also a covered waiting area on all platforms. More information about the facilities at Newport can be found here.

By Coach

There are regular National Express and Megabus coaches that stop in Newport.

If arriving via National Express, these will drop you off at the Kingsway coach stop, an approximately 15-minute walk from the train station. We will not be running shuttle buses from this coach stop, so please follow to route below to the train station (Google Maps destination will be Newport Station Car Park)

If arriving with Megabus, these drop off at the front of the train station, and you will have to make your way up the road and over the road bridge to the rear of the station, following the route above from the roundabout. Please let us know which coach company you will be using if arriving by coach.

By Plane

The are two airports serving the area around the site: Cardiff Airport, and Bristol Airport. From Bristol Airport, take the A1 Airport Flyer to Bristol Temple Meads, and change onto the train there. Alternatively, National Express run coaches from Bristol Airport to Newport, dropping off at Kingsway.

If you are arriving at Cardiff Airport (not recommended), make the 20-minute walk to Rhoose Cardiff International Airport station, and then board a service towards Cardiff to change to a train to Newport.

If you are flying to Heathrow, National Express run coaches to Newport from the bus station, or you can grab the train to London Paddington for an onward connection to Newport.

By Dragon

Dragon parking is limited so make sure to get here early! Fly west towards Wales; when you reach the border start looking for our flag. If you reach the sea, you've gone too far.

NOTE: Please ensure you have all the food and equipment needed for the welfare and safety of your dragon. The Rali Cymru committee take no responsibility for lost or stolen dragons throughout the duration of the Rali (excluding Splwt).
