Firstly, have you read our website? The answer to many questions can be found already! Secondly, please check it's not already been answered below.
For those asking about watershed rules these will still apply at the ball campsite/ campfire so this means NO rude songs can be sung at the campfire - family friendly good old scout and guide style campfire songs :)
on your table placing ( name card) you'll find a fun fact which you can talk about on your table if you wish to :)
we hope you enjoy finding facts about Lincoln and medieval times.
During the event, As per the SSAGO ‘Code of Conduct’, 2.2.6 states “Events may have a designated alcohol free space and members should respect this”. This is not a requirement.
SSAGO Code of Conduct - https://www.ssago.org/resources/policy/code-of-conduct
so although we don't have a designated alcohol free zone there are some quieter spaces across the venue that are open to use and chill out in.
The vegan option for desert is still an eton on mess desert just plant based :)
This will be run how the venue runs it at all there events. each table will be invited up to go and collect their meal and then once seated the next table will be invited up and so on. it wil be a very civilised and easy flowing system. there will be instructions on the night and just follow them and youll get your food :))
The SSAGO event line will be open over the weekend but this is for emergencies only. if for ever reason you need to contact the committee in case of an emergency over the weekend please call 020 3885 0451
And committee will be able to assit you. :)
tables will be pre assigned this is being organised by the committee based off the preferences people have stated on their booking .there will be a seating plan to look as as you enter the venue to find your table and then there are table settings to find your place at the table.
there are no under 18 on site on the friday evening ( the night of the campfire) so this will not be an issue.
but for the rest of the weekend there are separate toliet blocks you can use.
We are planning on having a google photos album with all the photos form the night will be uploaded. a link to this will be shared with those who came to the ball after the event so you will be able to access the photos.
We are aware that new people can make some people feel nervous or worried but do not worry although some members from scouting and guide local districts have been invited so has the entirety of SSAGO so this is an opportunity to make some new friends and see clubs from across the country. unfortunately not everyone knows everyone but this is a great chance to get to know new people. there is a quiet room if things do get too much for some where they can go and chill out away form the crowds, music and dancing.
the games mentioned in the description is at the ball event itself there is a smaller quieter room attached to the ball room with tables and chairs where there will be board games for people to play if they wish to take a break from dancing.
The games will be run as a play if you want to with friends there is no formalities to this,
The DJ is more than happy to take song requests at the disco. So just if you want to request a particular song just ask the Dj on the night :)
We are aware that flashing lights are a trigger for many people, we are not having flashing lights at the disco at the ball venue there will be moving lights instead.
The Wetherspoons is a fairly large spoons but we are lucky in Lincoln that we have two spoons either side of campus so if needed we could split into two spoons .
if all are full the alternative plan is to go to the university Pubs on campus :)
if for any reason first aid is required at the ball, there will be first available - members of the committee are first aid trained if needed :)
yes there is a step free access to the venue when you get there , this will be shown to those who require this entrance :)
if you have any other questions please do get in touch.
hi sorry you are having trouble finding it, The welcome campfire is happening on Friday 28th April 2023 at Sudbrooke campsite the time and location can be found on the programme and activities pages of the website. :)
There are a few other clubs in Lincoln including HOME and Scene. these are further down the hill. if you need any other help with club information please either email us at Ball@ssago.org or message us on instagram @lincolnmedieball
to cancel this option you can go onto your booking and edit this to cancel your minibus transport we look forward to seeing you in Lincs x
unfortunately their is a group scout camp happening on the campsite and they have booked out all the indoor spaces for their activities however there are the shower and toilet blocks which is a good place to do make up equally if it is a nice weekend weather wise which we are hoping for the outside grounds will be a nice place.
please send ball@ssago.org an email and we will look into it for you - sorry about the stress this may be causing you, we shall get you and answer asap
Good News !! Due to popular demand we have created a Ball shop just for the badges we are offering :)
There are four badges : The event badge, The knight badge , and LUGS club 2 badges.
if you are wanting a badge or multiple badges and can't make the Ball itself you can now purchase badges here
https://medieballshop.ssago.org/
As the afterparty Will be a self led activity choice for after the ball itself, there will be no set areas for the ball members attending, if you did want a booth it would be on. a first come first serve basis as per normal club nights :)
there will be a couple of quieter spaces across the evening. these will be the room attached to the bar area and the outside area. these will be open all evening for you to go and relax there will be some games in one of those rooms. these will be of fairly reasonable size available to everyone to use at the event.
we Agree that there hasn't been a SSAGO goes to spoons recently and we love it. so if you see the programme of activities we have planned to go to spoons on the Sunday morning and we are very lucky in Lincoln that we have two spoons. so do not worry SSAGO goes to spoons returns on April 30th in Lincoln
We will be offering a mini bus service at limited times throughout the weekend to get people to and from the ball and activities. equally if you are driving car share is a great option or taxis are very regular around Lincoln.
To find the Minibus times please see the transport section on the website https://ball.ssago.org/
Hi, so yes we had a few issues with our website but they should be cleared up now. We don't have any website professionals on our team and all that is on our website is what our lovely committee have learnt from scratch. If the issues are not resolved could you send us an email with the issues you have found at ball@ssago.org as we would like to resolve the issues as soon as possible.
Yes there is an unofficial afterparty which will be happening at one of the clubs if people wish to go. We will be advertising that nearer the day and on the weekend. Committee have already decided on a suitable venue/club in which 30+ members in formal clothes can attend. So, keep any eye out on our socials for the update 😊
So all members are adults so everyone is more than capable to walk near a main road without being silly. However, some members leading the group will be wearing visible uniform. Also, our walking tour won't be going on super busy main road and will be using suitable crossings.
Anyone booking on as a plus one must register through this link and create a guest account. They can then book onto the ball event. Please, also make sure to put your plus ones as your seat buddy and vice versa.

The dress code is formal attire. However, if you wish to dress in Medieval-inspired clothing, then you are welcome to do so! :)
If you experience any issues in the booking process, please contact webmaster@ssago.org.
